14 months later...geez I never write

Hey everybody.

I wonder if anyone still reads this?  Probably not.  I'll post anyway.

Well, it's been over a year since my last post, which is really pathetic.  I'm not going to try to recount the past year because there's no way I could cover it all in one post.  Suffice it to say that I graduated from college...I miss my friends from college very much...I have since started and quit my first "real" job...and am now working for the Finance department of St. John's Mercy Health Care in Town & Country.  I love my job...and I hate close (anyone in accounting or finance should know what I'm talking about!).

Things have been decent at home.  There was a major blowout with my Dad right before Thanksgiving...ahhh how I love the holidays.  I am finding it hard now to share enough time with my family during holidays and times when Jake is home. The good news is that I think I have finally set aside enough time for friends and family on a regular basis, though...and I've struggled with that for years.  Now my biggest problem is staying in touch with friends from college, because they are mostly far away and the whole out of sight out of mind thing kicks in.

Jake and I have made it to our 6 year anniversary.  Wow.  I still love him just as much as I did several years ago, probably more.  Things are great with us...nothing to big to talk about there.  I wish I could visit him before Christmas but I don't think that's going to happen.

Speaking of Christmas...more family issues with that one too.  Sounds like I won't get to spend any of my Christmas with Jake...which is stupid because we will both be in the same place for most of what I would consider the actual holiday.  Stupid family jealousy issues.

Other than that, not too much else to say.  I have work for the rest of the week of course, Thursday is Grey's Anatomy & church choir practice, Friday is a choir concert with Missouri Baptist University, and Saturday I need to go try on some shoes so that Lizzie doesn't kill me .  Ahh weddings.  Hehe.

Well, hopefully I'll write soon, but I doubt it.

Oh, and comment if you read this...I'm curious to see how many people still look at this.

Luv,
Angie

Passing the time...not sure what this is about...

Well, I'm in the computer lab trying to pass the time.  I showed up for my computer information systems class at noon, and there were about 5 people there.  We all concluded that class was cancelled, which it was...apparently the teacher had a friend of the family die and was going to be at a funeral today.

Hmm.  For once, my agenda is pretty blank for today.  It's a really nice feeling.  I need to do a rough draft of something - either poetry or a short story I think - for my literature portfolio.  We have to have at least two types of literature covered in a 6 page portfolio by the end of the semester.  I'm really excited about this assignment because I love to write.  We are workshopping rough drafts, of each piece we include in the final portfolio, on Mondays and Fridays.  I need to get something done by Wednesday so I can let the teacher make an overhead of it for Friday.  I may end up writing about athletic shorts...believe it or not.  We had to do a free write today and that's what came out...Jake's athletic shorts...lol.  Should be an interesting piece.

Does someone want to do my jobsearch for me?  Seriously now.  I need to make time at some point to sign up for Bear Tracks - which is our job referral program (mostly for on campus interviews) very soon.  I just don't have the motivation.  Graduation is still many months away - do I really need to worry about my job now?  Probably.  Ick.

Not that I want to stay in school or anything - I don't.  I just had searching for jobs.  It's such a pain.

Classes have been going well.  I have an A in everything except Financial Decision Making...which I have a very low B in...I'm basicaly .10 points away from a C.  Blah.  I've heard that's how the class goes for everyone though - and that the assignments and group projects at the end bring your grade way up.  I think I'd be quite happy to keep a B though.

I get to go to Rolla this weekend!   Woohoo!!!!  I wish I was there right now.    I miss Jake a lot.  I've been fortunate enough to see him almost every weekend since school started in one place or another, and it's only been 2 weeks this time, but I still can't wait to see him.  Yeah for Rolla trips.  I really want to go horseback riding or go to Six Flags...but those require money, and good weather.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I spent the last weekend in Springfield with my friends, which was really nice for a change .  I got some decorating done, a little homework ;0)...and spent a lot of time with Kim, Andrea, and Bret.  We were basically the only ones here.  It was a lot of fun though.  Lots of movies and pigging out and ... 3 trips to Walmart.  Why do I do this to myself?

Oh, and I found my Halloween costume!  I am going to dress up as tinkerbell, because everyone in my suite is going to be a character from Peter Pan.  Should be fun.  Did I mention my dress was 99 cents?  So exciting!

Well, class starts in about 5 minutes.  I should get going.

I'll post in another three months .

yep, still the toilet bowl of the universe

Current mood: sleepy

I want you all to know that I live in "Lake" Springfield.  That's right, the city that was once a piece of land is now a large body of water.  Ick.  Funny how that was my last post too.

I'm writing at this late hour b/c my life has gone absolutely crazy, lol.  I may gripe, but I really do like everything I'm doing.  School's been decent - but I haven't really gotten into my classes that far yet.  We'll see.

As I said, I've been very busy.  I am currently working on two research projects at once - let me tell you what fun that is.  One is an 8 page single spaced paper for my Computer Information Systems class.  The other is the preliminary research for a group project in my Financial Decision Making class.

I'm also President of Phi Eta Sigma and Collegiate Singers this year.  Yeah...I'm not the brightest person for taking on both of those.  Luckily, the choir officer thing is pretty laid back - I don't have to do very much at all.  Phi Eta Sigma is a constant job though.  I mean I might as well be working part time.  Nah, it's not that bad, but I need to start picking one time a day to check my e-mails.  I get flooded with them all the time.  I also keep day dreaming in class about all the things I have to do for PES soon...and making lists.  I think I have issues.  Both of these positions will be really good leadership experience for me, but it's still quite a pain for now.

In my personal life nothing much is new.  Still with my Jakey .  Some big things have happened recently to me too.  It's all quite personal and such, so I won't comment on it here.  Suffice it to say it's made me think a lot in the past few weeks, but after much reflection, I'm happy about things and I feel refreshed about the situation.  We'll leave it at that.

Big events coming up for me soon:

Lizzie's 21st
Phi Eta Sigma National Conference
Meghan & Ben's wedding
5 year anniversary with Jake (yes...5 years!!!!! wow I feel old now...)

On a side note, I've been spending a lot of time in Rolla, and a lot of time with my friends here at school.  Despite the fact that I'm putting aside my studies a little bit, I need this.  It keeps me sane.  I'm taking advantage of the last year of college as much as I can.  The girls on my floor are the best - I really don't want to think about leaving them.  Jenn is here now, and it's cool being around her a lot more than before.  I'm so proud of her for coming to this school away from home.  And I'm going to miss my KIM!!!!!  Well, we'll both be home fairly close to eachother, but really now, I'll miss living with her a lot.  All my music friends too - I was so happy I got to see them all last Friday.

My brother is here too!  Lol.  It's been fun seeing him at college.  I went to see his intramural soft-ball game the other night - good times.  Hopefully a trip to Kentwood dining center will be in store soon...

Final comments:  I'm sleepy.  Goodnight folks!!!!

Rain, how I loathe thee...

Sprinfield is the toilet bowl of the universe !!!!!!!

And Springfield definitely needed some better civils when they decided to create a drainage system, because guess what, it doesn't work.  I have to wade through a river to go eat.  Well, not wade...but roll my pants up lol.  Bah.
